Philosophy

Humans are very artistic beings, and seek out different ways to express their visions.   Most people find a relative small scale for this, such as a painter, musician, or photographer.   However,  some are drawn to the challenge of doing things on a monumental scale.

Those who built Stonehenge share a common bond with those building a football stadium today.   They both face enormous challenges, have to learn to work together as a team, and must push the limits of their knowledge and problem solving skills to have success.

Achieving success is a very rewarding experience for those involved, and can be a time of celebration for all.  The buildings that result from these creative efforts have given us the environment in which we live, work and play; and can be an expression of humanity at its best.

Think Tank Engineering (TTE) enjoys that experience and likes being part of the design and construction process.  Helping other people involved is very rewarding.  We offer a unique skill set that can be extremely valuable to any project team.

TTE is passionately commited to protecting human life for people inside buildings; not only from fire, but all other hazards. TTE will never compromise that.  Sadly, we are now seeing the need to protect human lives from the concious and wilful acts of other humans - the toughest challenge of them all.  Fire behaviour is predictable - human behavior is not.

From the beginning of every project, we want to understand the specific goals and objectives of the owner, designer, and builder.  We already appreciate the importance of budget, schedule and design intent; and readily seek out ways to input our knowledge into that process in a creative, problem solving manner, to help all parties to achieve success.

We believe all humans are created with equal intrinsic worth and dignity.  Helping others is the most rewarding aspect of our work.  Our ultimate goal is to improve human welfare within whatever sphere of influence we work with; locally, nationally or internationally.

Beauty can be found even in the raw structure of a building. This image was captured during the "topping out party" which is a traditional celebration held when the highest piece of the building structure is placed. In keeping with that tradition, a Christmas tree and American flag were placed on top of the last raker beam's formwork.

Sadly, the same buildings that were such a source of pride when built, can also be involved with humanity at its worst

Think Tank Engineering is committed to being part of the solution that moves our society away from a recurrence
of similar tragedies, and to reduce the risk to human life in our built environment.

Company Overview:
Our company objectives are: to protect human life from the devastation of fire; to advance and apply society's knowledge of the safe design and construction of buildings; and to help others achieve accurate and cost effective implementation of associated building regulations.

We offer fire protection engineering consulting services and expert guidance in compliance with the building codes and standards of the International Code Council, the National Fire Protection Association, and many others. We have over 35 years of experience in this field. The breadth of our experience, engineering education, problem solving skills, and team building abilities also allow us to provide services in many other aspects of the design and construction process.
